Good Luck - embroidery floss on paper (pounced with a t-pin). Going-away gift for my coworker M. We will miss you dearly.
My craft swap piece for my friend and BKP (best kendo partner), J. This was done in April but not given until May, so I’m sharing it with you now.
The characters in blue give the name of our school.
a little taste of what’s in the hoop this week:
up top, the freehanded design for sampler #10 - sakura
down below, a narrow sneak peak at the piece I’m nearly done with (!!) for my good friend and best kendo partner, J. Photos of that will be delayed because she won’t receive the gift until she returns home in May, and I don’t want to spoil the surprise.
No sampler this week, friends, because I was busy polishing this off for my dear friend and confidante Mrs. M. Just in time for her long honeymoon!
There are no words for what a pleasure it was to make and present this to her. I’m already working on my next gift for J., and a complex sampler with new stitches for next week.
This little thing was stitched on my new 3” metal and plastic hoop (LOVE), on the tissue-thin batik I purchased from the very pretty girls of Quilting Adventures last week. I can’t say enough good things about this fabric - it was a joy to stitch on and my forthcoming stuff will definitely feature this prominently. I’ll be backing this with something before I give it away but next time I will not make the mistake of running that floss line across the back.
